Student Support
dBs Institute is dedicated to helping students get the most from their time here. We know finances can get complicated and that financial pressures can arise at any time. Whether you're planning ahead or need urgent help, here's what support is available to you. For a more in-depth conversation, get in touch with our Student Support team.

Available Support
Emergency
A short-term, interest-free loan for students facing temporary cash-flow difficulty. Funds are paid directly to the service you need the funds for e.g. your landlord, transport provider, or other service, not to you personally.
Repaid via payment plan once your Student Finance or other funding arrives.
Hardship
Means-tested financial assistance for full or part-time students experiencing serious hardship that could prevent them from continuing their studies. Early applications are encouraged.
To be eligible, you'll need to have accessed your maximum student loan and grant entitlement, and student interest-free banking facilities.
Bursary
For students who are estranged from parents or guardians and studying without a family support network. If you have care leaver status, you may be eligible for a £2,000 bursary per year.
You may also wish to visit Stand Alone, a charity offering guidance for estranged students.
